FORENSICS
Forensics is intercollegiate competition in the areas of public speaking, oral
interpretation and debate. Forensics students attend regular class meetings
and travel all over the world to compete with other college students. During
each Forensics season, the typical student travels to approximately four to
eight tournaments, performs with other forensics students in intimate settings,
and writes or compiles three to six original ten-minute presentations. The student
not only performs, but also views about 300 student presentations. With this
kind of opportunity, students experience accelerated growth in their performance
skills, public speaking skills, self-esteem, and interpersonal communication
skills.
The Speech Performance Night is a showcase of the best presentations performed
by the Forensics Team throughout the year. It's a fun-filled evening of power
and panache; the public is invited to attend. For more information on this project
call Janet Brehe Johnson (925) 424-1145, Tim Heisler (925) 424-1147 or James
Dobson (925) 424-1189.
